Top-level domestic and international road freight – FTL & LTL
Domestic and international road freight forwarding, both in FTL (Full Truck Load) and LTL (Less than Truck Load) formats, enables the optimization of logistics processes, which directly translates into significant cost savings.
FTL (Full Truck Load) transport involves shipments where the cargo occupies the entire available space. Since the vehicle is fully loaded, forwarders do not need to combine orders from different clients to make the transport profitable.
This type of transport is convenient for both shippers and carriers, as the goods are delivered directly from the sender to the recipient without the need for additional operations such as invoicing or waiting for further loads. It is an ideal solution for companies looking to transport large volumes of goods.
LTL (Less Than Truck Load) transport, on the other hand, concerns shipments that do not occupy the entire loading space of a vehicle. The main advantage of this type of transport is the possibility of reducing delivery costs, as each shipper pays only for the space used. LTL transport is suitable for goods that are too heavy for courier services but do not fill an entire truck trailer, which is why it is often chosen for shipments destined for multiple consignees.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
What information is required to prepare a road transport quotation?
To prepare an accurate and reliable quotation for road transport, we need the following information:
- loading and unloading locations – exact addresses or at least cities (country, postal code),
- cargo value – especially for high-value goods, as this requires selecting a carrier with appropriate insurance coverage,
- dimensions and weight of the cargo – length, width, height, and gross weight,
- type of cargo – e.g. pallets, bulk goods, container, hazardous (ADR), oversized, heavy, etc.,
- number of pallets / cargo units – standard pallets (e.g. EUR) or non-standard units,
- loading and delivery dates – preferred dates and any time restrictions,
- special requirements – e.g. temperature-controlled transport, tail lift, additional securing, insurance, escort, road permits,
- type of vehicle – if known (curtain-sider, reefer, container trailer, flatbed, etc.).
The more detailed information we receive at the start, the faster we can prepare an offer tailored to your needs – with no hidden costs or unexpected surcharges.
At Terramar, we ensure full transparency in pricing and provide advisory support in selecting the best logistics solution.
Can I transport a smaller shipment if I don’t fill the entire truck?
Yes, we offer the possibility of transporting so-called partial loads – LTL (Less than Truckload) shipments, which do not occupy the entire loading space of a vehicle.
In LTL transport, your cargo is consolidated with other shipments heading in the same direction, which helps optimize costs and shorten transit times.
At Terramar, regardless of the shipment size, we ensure safety, on-time delivery and full transparency of conditions.
What insurance options are available for goods transported by road?
1. CARGO Insurance
- voluntary, comprehensive door-to-door cargo insurance covering a wide range of risks, including fire, accident, robbery, burglary, damage during loading/unloading, and weather-related events,
- applies to both domestic and international transport, offered under an all-risk system or named perils
- purchased by the consignor (shipper)
2. Carrier’s Liability Insurance (OCP)
- mandatory for companies performing road transport of goods (both domestic and international)
- covers damages related to the carrier’s liability – such as theft, damage, or delay – in accordance with the CMR Convention and the Civil Code
- purchased by the transport company
- divided nto: domestic, international, and cabotage coverage
3. Specialized Additional Options
For special cargo – e.g. oversized or ADR – tailored insurance policies can be purchased to cover these specific risks.
