Cargo vs OCP/OCS
Cargo Insurance – protection for your shipment (the beneficiary is the owner of the goods). It is usually purchased by the consignor to ensure compensation regardless of the carrier’s liability or convention limits.
OCP/OCS – carrier’s or freight forwarder’s liability insurance. It protects the service provider in case of their liability, but includes numerous limitations (caps, exclusions, the need to prove fault).
